The Complete Package
Activities are housed in three divisions, namely Transport & Warehousing, Specialised Freight and Consumer Products.
Both Transport & Warehousing and Consumer Products have extensive business relationships in the FMCG market, whilst Specialised Freight has developed tailor-made solutions for suppliers that move their raw materials or food grade products in tankers, for example milk.
This enables Imperial Logistics to provide focused, operation-specific solutions.
These divisions offer the following services and solutions:
-
Consumer Products: Consumer Products provides an integrated supply chain solution to a wide range of FMCG companies, as well as the agriculture and furniture markets. The division distributes into top-end retail, mid-trade and smaller retail environments, and offers express food distribution, selling and merchandising services.
-
Specialised Freight: Boasting the largest modern tanker fleet in the country, Specialised Freight provides dedicated, specialised transport services to the tanker industry in Africa. The division is the brand leader in the petro-chemical industry, with unequalled expertise in managing health, safety and environmental issues. In addition to that it also provides transport solutions in the FMCG industry for the delivery of milk and other raw materials shipped in tankers.
-
Transport & Warehousing: This is Imperial Logistics’ largest division and delivers full-spectrum logistics and supply chain services to a wide range of industries in Southern Africa, including the FMCG market. Services include, amongst others, line-haul, local distribution, consolidation, warehousing and logistics, transport broking and marketing services, cross-border transport, supply chain management and logistics services.
-
Support Services: In addition to the three operational divisions, Imperial Logistics has various companies offering support services. These include, amongst others, a dedicated IT solutions company, a bulk fuel procurement company, in-house insurance brokers, a clearing and forwarding company and an anti-hijacking & tracking unit.
A vital component to Imperial Logistics’ success is the team of highly qualified supply chain experts at its head office who offer value-added services to customers, which cover supply chain solutions, warehouse optimisation solutions and other consulting services.
Imperial Logistics’ operations have several TMS and WMS solutions implemented at the various operating companies. We have made a strategic decision to implement “best-of-breed” systems depending on the specific requirements of each business and customer portfolio. We are not committed to one system and integrate with the customer’s ERP. Furthermore, the various systems are integrated into a single interface with extensive reporting available to allow effective and pro-active decision-making and transparency. |
